DIE, CRAZY, FAT
Independent Woman Owned Film Company Set to Screen First Documentary

!NEW YORK, NY—OCTOBER 1 , 2014— America is a country obsessed with the latest trends and fads in everything from fashion and beauty to health. According to industry experts, the health and wellness industry is gearing to be a trillion dollar business by 2017 with most of those dollars driven by the ‘female purchasing power’. Buona Donna Productions, an emerging film company, takes a look at the journey of eight women on a quest to a “healthier” lifestyle in the eye-opening documentary DIE, CRAZY, FAT. Buona Donna will host a private screening on Thursday, October 30th at MIST Harlem in New York City.

“With America’s obsession with diet, exercise and its ever growing misconceptions, I felt it was vitally important-- especially for women-- to understand the basics of good health,” said Buona Donna co-founder, Tonya Conrad. “Faced with my own personal struggles, I wanted to expose the conflicting opinions in the medical and health industries and share insightful anecdotes that would allow others to determine for themselves the true meaning of healthy living; ultimately inspiring them to take control of their own health.”

Co-founded by Tonya Conrad and Nichole “Nikki” Nichols, Buona Donna Productions is focused on creating films, programming and other media content to enhance and enrich the lives of others through the exploration of complex social issues that have an impact on their lives including race, class, gender, spirituality, sex and so much more. Through DIE, CRAZY, FAT, the female duo takes an in depth look at physical and mental health, diet, body image and spirituality through the eyes of real women, dealing with real life situations across a diverse spectrum of age, race, and social status.

The event will begin with a cocktail reception to celebrate the completion of the documentary followed by the screening of the two hour long film. The reception begins at 6pm followed by the screening at 8pm. For more information about the event or to request tickets email tamara@sienamediagrp.com or visit the film’s Facebook page DIE CRAZY FAT.

DIE, CRAZY, FAT is a riveting documentary showcasing the raw human progressions and set backs of eight women on a quest to a healthier self through physical, mental and spiritual changes. During the transformation process, these women take on new choices and test different alternatives pertaining to health and diet. Along the way, some of the participants find themselves vacillating between what the experts define as healthy and what their own minds and bodies feel is healthy, resulting in conflicting beliefs on what has become accepted doctrine over the years. Documenting an emotional six week journey, DIE, CRAZY, FAT will undoubtedly make an indelible mark not only amongst women but all genders, demographics and ethnicities.
